Awakening the Horse People (ATHP) is a project that supports people of european heritage to uproot whiteness and regrow ancestral relationships by providing tools that help answer the questions of 'who am I?' and 'where do I come from?' The project started in 2013, and we now reach people all over the world. Using original, creative media we seek to inspire others to reawakening relationship with the lands, peoples, and sacred ways of life that belong to us through our european ancestors. Awakening these relationships can provide pathways to heal historic traumas, make reconciliation possible with others harmed by our lost connection, and help us return to inter-dependence with Mother Earth in the face of climate change. We embrace the Indigenous understanding that we must: walk backwards into the future.
